It’s extremely saddening to see the costs associated in treating breast cancer (approximately $20 billion/annually). That’s a high cost for fighting for your life, especially when 20% of us will lose our battle. In other words, 1 in 8 people (1 in 5.5 in the State of Ohio) will be diagnosed this year with breast cancer. Of those eight, two will not prevail. *The simple most effective way of lowering health care costs, is to eliminate the disease of breast cancer. I ask that my viewers support my efforts to finding PREVENTION.
Why did Susan G. Komen reject Dr. Vincent Tuohy’s request for a grant to save lives? Many people speculate the reasoning of Nancy Brinker’s (Founder) refusal; however, I (a woman who continues to live with an incurable form of breast cancer), choose to look at the extraordinary accomplishments already achieved as the result of SGK’s contributions. That being said, we now have a professor that has a three-year proven success rate (consequently substantiated by research evidence) to PREVENT breast cancer.
I invite you to review the 2011 Komen Financial Statements filed by the SGK Organization.
A message from Toni Turchi; Founder and CEO of the Toni Turchi Foundation,
To: Nancy G. Brinker; Founder and CEO of the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure:
On behalf of myself and all of my sisters/brothers who face a daily fear that we may [someday] be taken from our loved ones, I plead with you to include Dr. Vincent Tuohy (Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Ohio) into your “Liabilities and net assets” so that he can proceed with his immunization in the clinical trials that I’m confident will result in FDA approval. With the utmost respect Ms. Brinker, how can we NOT afford to collaborate with Dr. Tuohy to eradicate this disease? Can you imagine where this could lead us in regards to other cancers? It’s the greatest gift that I can leave behind with my 10 year old little boy.
Thank you in advance for your immediate consideration,
Toni Turchi
